Intuit makes frequent updates and enhancements to QuickBooks Online. When a change affects content in this learning solution, the ebook will automatically be updated. Print users will need to refer to the QBO Update Report prior to starting each chapter to see the latest updates. We recommend that students bookmark the QBO Update Reports if they are using the print format.

Load an eLab Course

To use eLab, you'll first need to load a Ready-to-Go course. Sign into eLab to begin.

Intuit Education provides instructors access to the Intuit Educator Portal. Instructors will send students an email invite from the portal for students to accept a free, one-year trial of QuickBooks Online. Complete the QuickBooks Online for Educators request form to get access to your Intuit Educator Portal.

QBO Educator Portal
From the Intuit Educator Portal, you will add your class list and send students a new company file for Puppy Luv Pampered Pooch (the company they will build for Chapters 2-12). Intuit provides an email template to use, but we recommend editing the email content to ensure your student’s company file is set up to match the course. For Chapter 13, you will send students a second company file for Rain Cross Auto Detailing.
Copy and paste this text into the email invite:
- You will create your new company file in Chapter 2. If you want to get started early, follow the steps in Accessing Your QuickBooks Online Trial guide.
- Accept the invitation by clicking on the button above.
- On the Intuit account sign up screen enter your information and choose a password. Please write down the password in a safe place!
- Bookmark https://qbo.intuit.com to return to your company file later.
The Sample Company
Intuit has created a sample company for students to use as a safe “sandbox” area to practice in without worrying about making mistakes.
No data is saved in the sample company. Since data is not saved, all Develop Your Skills (DYS) exercises for a chapter must be completed in the same work session. Some chapters include Tackle the Task exercises, providing students extra practice using the sample company.
IMPORTANT: No login is required, but students need to log out of the Test Drive before they can access their company file for Puppy Luv Pampered Pooch.

View as Student & Manage Student Submissions
Within educators' eLab accounts, instructors can experience eLab just like students do. The View as Student feature allows instructors to submit completed exercises and/or tests before assigning them to students.

Student Registration
Provide your students your eLab course URL so they can create an eLab account and register for your eLab course. Please note: If you are integrating eLab with an LMS, please DO NOT provide students your course URL. They will access eLab content directly from your LMS.
